This is a 3-week beginner’s class covering the basics of quiltmaking for students who want to do machine pieced quilts. You will learn the language, and how to use the tools and techniques to start you off in the right direction to enjoy the craft of quilting. You will complete a small quilt.

You can be involved in creating your quilt from start to finish. Miniature Punchneedle Embroidery

Cut and piece a drunkard’s path quilt faster than you thought possible. We will be using templates from Elisa’s Backporch Designs to cut this striking wall hanging. If you’ve never tried curved piecing, here’s your chance!

Creative Post Cards

Fabric lovers will enjoy cutting snippets from their stash to create these mailable post cards. Once you get started, it’s hard to stop -- keepsakes you can make and mail. The cards can be personalized to pass on a special message to your relatives and friends.

Village Quilt Shop
Class Policy
To reserve your spot, YOU MUST REGISTER IN PERSON. No mail-in or phone-in
registrations. The class must be paid for at sign-up. You have not registered until you have paid for the class.

Payment should be made in cash or check made out to instructor – no credit cards.
If more than one class is paid for, separate checks must be made out for each class to
instructors.

If you need to cancel a class, 7 days notice (and not 6 days!) is required in the
event we have a waiting list and will be able to fill your spot. After 7 days, refunds for
a cancelled class will be made only at the teacher’s discretion.

In the event of cancellation of a class due to insufficient enrollment, you will
be notified in advance and your money will be refunded.

At registration you can pick up the supply list along with any other
information provided by the teacher. Unless otherwise instructed, please come to the
class prepared with your supplies purchased in advance of the class date.

Bring basic sewing supplies to every quilting class. These include items
like scissors, ruler, pencil, needle, thread and seam ripper.

If a sewing machine is required for your class, make sure you are familiar with
the machine and that is in good working order.

Arrive for your class with a smile on your face and an open mind to learn lots
of great things. We’re very excited about our teaching staff!

Remember, materials purchased in connection with our classes (with the
exception of the “free” advanced beginner’s class) are eligible for a 10% discount.
